In 1826 the exuberant and extroverted James Allardice founded the distillery and produced his ‘Guid GlenDronach’ single malt.
Today the GlenDronach Distillery is famous for producing richly sherried single malt whiskies of inimitable and individual character.
This remarkable and full bodied malt is matured for a minimum of 18 years in the finest Oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 46%, the GlenDronach Revival is non chill filtered and of natural colour. A truly excellent single malt.
The GlenDronach “Allardice” 18 year old, Single Highland Malt is bright deep gold with a tawny centre, the nose has the sweet aromatics of fudge and muscovado sugar. Fruit compote and glacier morello cherries provide added complexity. The palate is rich and dark with flavours of stewed fruits and all-spice married perfectly with classical aged Oloroso and toasted walnut bread and chocolate orange. The finish is tremendously complex and long.
